Millarville Run To The Market Half-Marathon
Well it's a good thing this was just a training run and I wasn't planning on racing, because my body had a plan of it's own.
It's pretty much my own fault though. I messed with my routine WHICH IS THE WORST THING TO DO. I didn't eat like I would have the day before, including mini doughnuts and a McDonalds brownie (which were actually delicious but NOT what I normally eat). I didn't have rice for supper and instead had some funky tasting salsa, some crackers and 2 large margaritas. My night wasn't the best and I went to bed really late, then tossed and turned until my alarm went off at 4:51am. THEN I didn't want breakfast so all I had was coffee and water before I ran.
Needless to say, my stomach was NOT happy with me. I got to visit almost all the porta-potties along the route. My time was right around 2 hours but I'm cool with it.
This is the second time I've ran this and it is easily one of my favourite runs to do. It is SO pretty and just feels very Albertian. The atmosphere is very mellow as well and I think everyone just enjoys it and doesn't worry about time.
6 hours after the finish line I'm still nursing my stomach. And watching chick flicks 😍 cause that's the mood I'm in.
